The Role

Bloomberg Data Solutions seeks to add a seasoned professional as a senior member of the Business Development team. The successful candidate will have direct impact on identifying growth opportunities both inside and outside of Bloomberg. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Evaluate new business opportunities (e.g., internally developed products, partnerships and acquisitions)
- Work with division heads/product managers to define business opportunities
- Estimate potential upside of opportunities (e.g., market assessment, NPV analysis, match with current customer needs, etc.)
- Identify and execute required analyses and market due diligence
- Assess range of competitive responses and impact on opportunity
- Conduct market and competitive research and analysis
- Develop perspective on “go/no go” decisions and present case for investment to senior business unit leadership
- Support the execution of priority initiatives with cross-business unit teams
- Create metrics to evaluate performance
- Outline and present initiative performance versus objectives

Qualifications

- 5 or more years of business development or business consulting experience
- Management consulting experience preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset with significant experience in developing profitable and highly marketable new business opportunities, implementing those strategies and managing the businesses profitably
- Impeccable reputation as a business manager and team player, who is well organized, communicates well, is energetic, innovative, and intellectually challenges others
- Strong project management skills, inclusive of establishing project scope and project scheduling
- Solid Financial Services experience
- MBA preferred
- Knowledge of the Bloomberg terminal and familiarity with competitor's products a plus
