Role & Responsibilities:
Bloomberg is seeking highly-motivated and experienced sales representatives who have a desire to work on selling and positioning its new to market legal research product, Bloomberg Law. This is the first real-time legal research platform that integrates innovative search technology, comprehensive legal content, company and client information, and proprietary news in one place.
Sales representatives must obtain an in depth understanding of the needs of legal professionals and a similar depth of understanding of Bloomberg Law to ensure the proper positioning of the product within law firms, corporations, and the public sector.
Our sales team is tasked with developing new business, and building and maintaining relationships within corporations, law firms, and other areas within the legal sector. We need individuals who are analytical, hard-working, determined, self-motivated, personable and confident.
Relationship management is imperative to success as this role is based upon heavy prospecting to develop new business opportunities. Applicants must be skilled at working in groups and giving presentations in front of large audiences.
Sales representatives will be expected to excel at the following:
- Developing and managing a pipeline to ensure that sales targets and objectives are met
•- Increasing awareness of Bloomberg Law as a preferred product among legal professionals
•- Staying current on new products, enhancements, and industry trends to help understand the impact on customers
•- Establishing long-term relationships with customers, identifying up-sell opportunities, and developing new business
•- Training attorneys and other legal professionals on how to use Bloomberg Law for legal research and business development
•- Remaining informed of competitive activities in assigned accounts
Qualifications:
•- Minimum 5 years sales experience
•- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
•- JD preferred (not required)
•- Proven record of exceeding goals and performance targets
•- Working knowledge of sales concepts, methods and techniques
•- Knowledge of and background in the legal profession and/or legal publishing industry preferred (not required)
•- Legal sales experience a plus (not required)
•- Effective time management skills
•- Expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
•- Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate value propositions to the industry decision makers
•- Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal preferred (not required)
•- Must be able to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment
•- Travel required
