The Role

The Data Solutions Sales Group at Bloomberg is growing at a rapid pace and we are searching for enterprising and seasoned professionals to help us expand our global sales operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct sales of Reference Data and the Bloomberg Asset Valuation Service (BVAL), including managing accounts and providing solutions to both enterprise-wide and individual user groups across front, middle, and back office clients. The candidate will also be accountable for delivering new sales and revenue to meet and/or exceed annual targets.

Qualifications

- Minimum of 3 years demonstrated success conducting financial business-to-business sales
- Understanding of operational and technical infrastructure of financial firms
- Knowledge of data licensing, warehousing and centralization
- Proven ability to identify new prospects and build lasting relationships
- Possession of existing financial contacts is advantageous

The Role:

Bloomberg LP is looking for motivated and passionate candidates to join our 2012 Global Data Summer Internship Program. This is a twelve week internship where you will receive training across market sectors to help build a foundation of Bloomberg product knowledge, understanding our client base and networking with employees throughout the company. You will be working as a Global Data Analyst in a specific sector for the summer.

Global Data is broken down by market sector. Analysts work in teams focusing on equities, fixed income, mutual funds and portfolio holdings, and derivatives. Our scope has recently increased with market demand and now includes new products like Government, Credit and Equity Research. All employees are incredibly hardworking, inquisitive and innovative. These groups provide transparency into the markets and will continue to build on the core foundation of our business as we grow and expand our coverage across markets and industries.

As a Global Data Analyst, you will work closely with many departments internally across the company including sales, news and research and development. Working together with sales we stay in tune with client needs and suggested enhancements. We can then work with research and development to make these enhancements come to life.

We are the front line in receiving the data that fuels our breaking news stories and contribute a tremendous amount of information to our media groups. Externally, analysts work with clients to provide solutions to their inquiries and also build relationships with some of the most renowned names in finance.

Analysts not only maintain the information on the terminal, but they are always looking for ways to improve our processes and the information on the terminal to stay ahead of the competition and we expect that you will play a key role in driving our products
forward.

Minimum
Qualifications:

Candidates will have in-depth experience with enterprise hosted services and work closely with both our sales and product teams. As an Application Specialist for Bloomberg Vault, you will be integral to both our sales cycle, product development and successful on-boarding of new customers.

Successful candidates will have experience with either on-site or SaaS enterprise software sales cycles and deployment. You will interact with all levels of the organization at external clients from CTOs to Chief Compliance Officers and IT administrators. The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, comfortable in a demanding, client-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

-Present Bloomberg Vault technology infrastructure, including demonstrating a deep familiarity with software, hardware, networking and security stacks.
