Job Description

We are looking for a Flight Planning Operations Manager (m/f).

Within the Airbus Training center Europe (SLTE) in Toulouse, you will be part of the Flight Operations team. The organization inside the group may require to have the competences to be able to manage the different activities.

Your mission will be:

• Being accountable of the planning of Flight training courses under the responsibility of Airbus training center (courses taken place in Airbus Training Centers, at Customer base or in the Network Training Centers). Planning activity covers the mid- and long-term (12 to 60 months) The goal is to define the most optimized use of resources (instructors and simulators) regarding the business forecast. Planning activity will evolve with the introduction a successful overbooking strategy. Your role will be to implement overbooking approach, evaluate the risk and define strategies to mitigate customer impact.

• Being accountable to schedule resources: Scheduling activity covers the short-term (1 to 3 months) assignment. Simulators and instructors assignment has to comply with Airworthiness Regulation rules and with local Training center policies and shall reach SLT commercial & operational objectives (ie: 5500 hr/simulator/year) You shall ensure that provided solutions contribute to maximize revenues and that peak load are timely and correctly anticipated and handled.

• Being accountable to define stable instructor rosters while answering to operational needs. Review and share with TPSM (Training Product Sales Manager) on available capacity versus customers demands and work closely with instructor team-leaders to ensuring the well balanced assignment of instructors.

• Being accountable to manage activities inherent to instructors: -Find solutions when lacking of local ATC Instructors to support courses. Accountable to manage part-timer resources (engineering, flight tests, consultants) in order to quickly optimize the overall assignment. In charge to interface with Central Operation in order to find solution with other ATCs/providers when Instructors and/or equipment in the local ATC are not sufficient to support courses in this local ATC -Instructor skills & competences: Setting up the trainings for Instructors according to local standardization requests.

• Being accountable to provide Training Solutions to TPSM within the shortest lead-time. It means building training solutions for Customers at minimum/optimized cost for Airbus and guarantee quick response time for Customers despite all internal and external constraints. Objective is 2 day lead-time for standard cases.

• Being responsible for the local ATC training activity reporting linked to your activity.

• Being responsible for leading the training activity coordination meetings with TPSM on a weekly basis. • As SLT employee, participate to the Safety management activity in place at Training and Flight Operations Support. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Managing and monitoring the resources (Simulators, Classrooms, Instructors) utilization rate,

- Producing and updating the Operation Planning based on a defined grid and in accordance with Authority regulations and internal constraints,

- Setting priorities on how to use the resources and adapt current planning to constraints when they appear to ensure an optimized utilization of resources while satisfying Customers request (smart grid elaboration, minimization of external resource use),

- Reviewing and sharing with TPSM on available capacity versus Customer demands: Leading weekly meeting,

- Ensuring that Instructors are correctly assigned to any given courses and validate that it matches authority requirements and internal constraints: You are entitled to maintain your knowledge of new regulations released from internal policy and standardization departments,

- Planning in coordination with instructor team-leaders the appropriate trainings to maintain the qualifications of all instructors up to date,

- Contribution to weekly/monthly report on past and forecasted activities to consolidate operation / financial dashboards. You will be accountable for the interpretation of the KPIs link to his activity

- Providing long-term workload forecast information (simulator and instructor workload) to Business Support in the ATCs in order to optimize the use of Training resources (Simulators, classrooms & instructors) according to the training requested. You will elaborate the forecast based on the data given by the business (TPSM): Aircraft deliveries, customer training conferences, his own experience,

- Defining the workload to be externalized to anticipate the peak loads: Will interface with Central Operation when Instructors and/or equipment in the local ATC are not sufficient to support courses in ATC Europe.

- On the top of daily activity, you will have to manage last minute changes (simulator failure, instructor or trainee no show, remedial, cancellations, ) and inform all involved actors of the process (TPSM, Trainee Support office, instructors, customer management, maintenance team, ) accordingly

- Safety initiatives: Report any (potential) safety issue or (potential) safety event that is detected in the frame of the day to day activity. Can contribute, on request of their safety representatives, in any safety enhancement initiative as part of Safety management activity (PSP, SMS), eg, contribute in the analysis and follow up of reported events, contribute in the identification and analysis of hazards and risk assessment in their own domain of activity.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

- Planning and scheduling expertise: FAL, Maintenance, Project

- Experience within Airlines Flight Crews scheduling would be a plus.
