The job’s mission:

The Strategic Contracts Associate Manager plays a key role in supporting Stryker’s mission of making healthcare better, as this professional facilitates the commercial growth of our business by overseeing the contract management process in The Netherlands.

You will have the opportunity to be at the center of a cross-functional team, strategically following through on contract execution and retention. In this position, you will collaborate with the Commercial Manager, legal counsel and the Sales Managers of all divisions: you will be responsible to manage all main contract topics in the overall sales process.

Key responsibilities:

In this role, you will be a strong partner to our Sales divisions by focusing on the following 3 main areas:

1.Contract support for the sales process:

  • Responsible for managing the contract flow and supporting the Sales teams throughout the contract process.

  • Acting as a first point of contact for all sales-related inquiries and requests for approvals of customer contracts. To ensure compliance, you are in close contact with Stryker’s legal team.

  • Managing distribution (internal and external) of contract drafts and finalized contracts.

  • Towards continuous improvement, you will work closely with the Tender Manager and the Commercial Manager to make the contract process more efficient and effective.

  • 2. Strategic contract management:

  • You use your expertise to facilitate commercial negotiations by establishing consultative relationships with the Sales divisions.

  • You are the gatekeeper of managing contractual KPI’s vs company policy.

  • Analyzing the revenues of each live contract, reviewing their sales and margin performance and feeding this information/insights back to the divisions.

  • Combining internal data (contracts, market analyses, pricing) and gathering market information with Sales about competitor contract information.

  • Partnering with the Commercial Manager to optimize the Opportunity Tracker – our strategic pipeline tool for our Sales divisions. Each quarter you’ll provide an overview on future expiring contracts so that Sales can start engaging with those clients for timely renewals.

  • Your drive and experience, together with your knowledge of our business, are key in enabling cross-divisional deals.

  • 3. Storage of contracts and maintaining the database:

  • Ensuring that contracts are properly stored in our Contracts Storage and Management database.

  • Responsible for maintaining, updating and driving improvements to our database.

  • Education and Experience:

  • Solid experience in managing contracts in a commercial environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business Administration, Economics or Law).

  • Fluency in Dutch and in English (spoken and written) is required.

  • Good knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel).

  • Competencies/skills:

  • You have strong time-management skills to attend to deadlines.

  • Your organizational skills allow you to coordinate several tasks/projects at the same time.

  • Process Management: you have the ability to follow stated procedures as well as refine procedures where appropriate.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide insights.

  • You are a team player who finds enthusiasm in collaborating with other colleagues and across departments.
