The role: Senior Social & Content Manager - Betfair International

We are looking for a Senior Social & Content Manager to join our International Brand Marketing team in Dublin. The closing date for this role is Friday 26th February. 

Are you our next star player?

Reporting to the Head of International Brand Marketing, the Senior Social & Content Manager will have end-to-end accountability for delivering Betfair’s social media and content strategy in our target international markets around the world.

This is a key role in the International Brand team, with responsibility for defining campaigns across all the major social media platforms, within multiple countries, whilst ensuring flawless execution at all times. In addition, you’ll lead Betfair’s transformation from a top global betting brand to a leading sports content destination in its own right. We have a well-established betting blog, but it needs to become so much more. We’re looking for someone to bring together the best editorial from around the Flutter business, combine it with top external sports writers, and build an asset that competes with the best sports journalism in the world. 

Winning in content will enable Betfair to grow in markets that demand a shift away from the conventional media playbook, and our social strategy will be no different. Adopting a publisher mindset, you and your team will develop social media content that’s genuinely talkable, delivers cut-through, and gets shared on the platforms that matter to our customers. You’ll also take on the challenge of building the Betfair brand in fast growing new markets such as Latin America, working with world class assets like our Copa Libertadores sponsorship and Brazilian football legend Rivaldo to make it happen.

With a team of five people located across Europe and Latin America, in additional to external agency support, this is an opportunity to build a strategy from the ground up, with the resource to execute against it. Why we need you

Your role will include:

• Defining annual and monthly plans for social media channels in Betfair’s international markets across Europe and Latin America, and leading a team to execute against them
• Working with the wider Brand, Online Media and MarTech teams to develop strategic content partnerships with digital media owners and publish our content on their platforms
• Sourcing best-in-class sports editorial from external contributors and other brands within Flutter, to enhance the breadth and depth of our publishing capabilities
• Collaborating with the Sponsorship & PR team to ensure all partnership rights are fully activated on social media
• Working with the Senior Analyst to build out social reporting capabilities, measure channel and content performance on a monthly basis, and share results with wider stakeholders
• Managing monthly budgets, working with Finance and the wider Brand team to ensure operational alignment
• Monitoring social and content trends in the wider industry and beyond, ensuring Betfair is at the forefront of any emerging platforms, and in a position to leverage them where it makes sense

Who we’re looking for

Your experience:

• 5+ years’ experience, with managerial responsibility for social media and content channels
• Commercial acumen and a will to deliver projects that impact brand metrics
• Experience in a fast-moving ecommerce environment
• Excel & PowerPoint skills
• Fluency in English is essential. Spanish and Portuguese language skills are a distinct advantage
• Experience managing a team
