The person we are looking for is a professional with documented experience, having at least 10 years in HSSE within the Oil and Gas and/or Construction industry.

The right candidate should possess excellent communication skills and have practical hands-on-experience in the supervision of hazardous activities and coaching on the field for the contractors’ workforce for all matters related to health and safety, as well as theoretical knowledge of health and safety legislation and internationally recognized safety recommended practice.

The candidate should be competent and reliable with a proactive attitude, able to work in compliance with Company and Client procedures without continuous supervision.

Professional level of English and German language is required.



1.     10+ Years in Oil & Gas, Civil and/or construction industry;

2.     10+ Years in an HSSE role;

3.     A degree in any technical / engineering discipline is a plus;

4.     Certified OHS Professional according to applicable national legislation;

5.     Confined Space Entry Certificate and Working at Height Certificate according to applicable national legislation;

6.     Relevant certification(s) in the Workplace/Occupational Health & Safety training;

7.     Operational experience with hands on experience in HSSE for Asset Construction and Maintenance Projects. HSSE experience within Shell T&S projects, as well as experience in large international O&G construction projects is a plus;

8.     Familiar with all aspects of building and civil facilities construction, testing, installation and commissioning activities;

9.     Familiar with HazID, risk assessment, JSA creation and PTW system processes

10.   Excellent knowledge in safe working practice in civil and construction site. Familiar with the International Oil and Gas Producer (IOGP) - Fabrication Site Construction Safety Practices;

11.   Technical knowledge of Distribution and Pipeline Assets; knowledge of working on brownfield assets is a plus;

12.   Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people at all levels of the Project organization, from management to field workforce.

  1. Physical fitness to work; medical Certificate of Fitness to Work up to OGUK (Oil&Gas UK) guidelines and standards is recommended (work will involve time on large-scale plants and/or outdoor sites. Work shall include confined space entry and/or working at height for work area inspections and supervision purposes);


1.     NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

2.     Lead Auditor OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001



Ø Perform site safety walks and PTW inspections for identification of potential issues related to high risk activities;

Ø Supporting review of risk assessments, method statements, job safety analysis and work permits, ensuring consistency with applicable Clients’ standards;

Ø Conduct Toolbox Talk and Pre-Work Safety Check on a daily basis;

Ø Provide site supervision and coaching for the workforce, aimed at on-field technical and practical HSE support and at coaching on the job;

Ø Perform site safety walks and PTW inspections for the identification of potential issues related to ongoing project’s activities;

Ø Support Client’s and Contractors’ HSE staff and Field Supervisors in their daily activities of supervision and identification of issues, suggesting corrective actions to be implemented;

Ø Prepare safety observation reports on unsafe acts and unsafe conditions, with detailed risks analysis and suggestions for corrective actions/control measures;

Ø Periodically monitor follow up and implementation of corrective actions;

Ø Roll out HSSE Programs and initiatives defined at the Regional / Company level

Ø Provide HSE training for all relevant topics within Oil & Gas Asset Construction and Maintenance Projects (internal training based on Client’s procedures and standards and industry best practices);

Ø Review emergency plans and specific rescue plans and support the Emergency Rescue Team in planning and organization of emergency rescue exercises in accordance with site procedures;

Ø Daily HSSE Reporting to Client’s and Company management, as per instructions received by the Company.
