The role: We are looking for a Social Media Manager on a 12 Month FTC to join our International Brand Marketing team in our Malta office.

Are you our next star player?

Reporting to the Senior Social & Content Manager, the Social Media Manager will have end-to-end responsibility for executing Betfair’s social media strategy in our target international markets around the world.

This is a key role in the International Brand team, with responsibility for defining campaigns across all the major social media platforms, within multiple countries, whilst ensuring flawless execution at all times. With a particular focus on Spain, your campaigns will enable Betfair to own the betting conversation in a changing advertising landscape where customer engagement with proprietary social content is key to growing our brand.

Adopting a publisher mindset, you and your team will develop social media content that’s genuinely talkable, delivers cut-through, and gets shared on the platforms that matter to our customers. You’ll also take on the challenge of building the Betfair brand in fast growing new markets such as Latin America, working with world class assets like our Copa Libertadores sponsorship and Brazilian football legend Rivaldo to make it happen.

With a team of two people located across Europe and Latin America, in additional to external agency support, this is an opportunity to build a strategy from the ground up, with the resource to execute against it. The role requires a true critical expert who is obsessed with emerging trends in the social media space and has the operational capability to leverage them.

Why we need you:

Your role will include:

  • Defining annual and monthly plans for social media channels in Betfair’s international markets across Europe and Latin America, and leading a team to execute against them
  • Collaborating with the Sponsorship & PR team to ensure all partnership rights are fully activated on social media
  • Working with the Senior Analyst to build out social reporting capabilities, measure channel and content performance on a monthly basis, and share results with wider stakeholders
  • Managing monthly budgets, working with Finance and the wider Brand team to ensure operational alignment
  • Monitoring social media trends in the wider industry and beyond, ensuring Betfair is at the forefront of any emerging platforms, and in a position to leverage them where it makes sense
Who we are looking for:

Your experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience, with managerial responsibility for social media channels
  • Commercial acumen and a will to deliver projects that impact brand metrics
  • Experience in a fast-moving ecommerce environment
  • Excel & PowerPoint skills
  • Fluency in English is essential. Spanish and Portuguese language skills are a distinct advantage.
  • Experience managing a team

Your behaviours:

  • Resilience: Resilient and confident under pressure, comfortable in dealing with ambiguity and managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • Customer obsessed: Quickly gains an understanding of what drives Sports bettors, executing customer-centric campaigns that deliver against their motivations
  • Quality obsessed: gets it right first time
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills: comfortable operating at pace to a high standard, despite requiring the involvement of multiple stakeholders across multiple countries to deliver results. Actively builds a network of effective relationships across Flutter. Can get things done both through formal channels and informal networks
  • Fast learner: Learns quickly when facing new situations. Experiments to find new solutions. Takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and extracts lessons learned from failures or mistakes
  • Comfortable both in detail and in stepping back to consider long term strategy

What’s in it for you?
