Language Jobs in Switzerland
Aside from an extensive variety of chocolate and cheese, handmade watches and diverse landscapes, Switzerland is well known for being one of the richest countries in Europe where salaries are high and taxes are low. The labour market in Switzerland is welcoming for foreigners, especially in senior management level positions so over one-fifth of the country’s full-time employment market is made of foreign workers. Since Switzerland ageing workforce is also leading to skills shortages, expats and language speakers are thought after in many sectors such as finance, insurance, pharmaceutical, communications and hospitality especially in and around Zurich, Geneva, Basel, and Bern. However, in a country with 4 official languages (German, Italian, French, and Romansh ) and policies in place giving priority to local talent, it’s an understatement to say that competition in the job market is stiff.
